Caledonia Fair - Caledonia, Ontario

The fair was so so cute. We are tourists so we got to experience their annual fair and that was very fun. Super dogs show, mini horses show, a parade, a circus man, cows, rabbits, and more. Tokens to get on the rides are purchasable in a few stands that were very packed with a long long line. Many food stands and some shopping stands for clothes and jewelry. It was very very cold and windy so we didn't stay for too long. The restrooms available in the center of the fairground were very clean. Nice picnic tables near the lake.

Fair was great. Washrooms very few ? I went to many fairs including Owen sound where there were washrooms everywhere. What’s up with this ? There should be at least 100 added. Hopefully the health board takes a look ? The fair was packed and hardly any washrooms?

Very clean!! Very nice handicap parking. Regular parking is on grass. Handicap access for on the stage is a small lift that needs a key. Very nice volunteers. Buildings are too small for the woodworking weekend, no room for an electric scooter in the building. I can't hear seminars too loud and packed in buildings.

Went there for the woodworking show. smaller than we were hoping and it was more a tool shopping show than actual wood working. Only a few showing their craft. Plus 20 bucks a head to get in made it even more of an insult. Such a shame. Parking was okay. That was about it.

El río, de aguas claras y con una corriente suave, permite disfrutar de un ambiente relajado y seguro. Hay una gran variedad de peces que atraen a pescadores de todas partes, y también es común ver tortugas nadando cerca de la orilla, lo cual añade un toque especial a la experiencia. La biodiversidad del lugar lo convierte en un sitio perfecto para quienes buscan conectarse con la naturaleza.

Además de la pesca, el entorno en general es muy agradable, con paisajes hermosos que invitan a pasear o simplemente a relajarse observando el río. Por todo esto, recomiendo mucho este sitio a quienes
quieran disfrutar de la paz y la tranquilidad que solo un ambiente natural como este puede ofrecer. Sin duda, un destino excelente para desconectar y descansar al máximo."

The right amount of fair!
We enjoyed 2 animal barns, 4H arena, live stage for entertainment, indoor space for fair and school entries, vendors, food, and the carnival.

The Caledonia fairgrounds. Owned and operated by the Caledonia horticulture society. The grounds are a large fenced in property, roughly 1k in diameter, loosely open to the local public; but the land and building are there to be rented for events. The property is very well maintained, always clean and the main arena is powered by a roof of solar panels.
Known mostly for Caledonia fair, that happens every year, for a weekend in September. The grounds themselves are also host to several dog shows, car shows, rodeo, swap meets, large charity events,garden shows, as well as camp grounds for RV touring groups. There is a large, old arena that is also used for stag and doe's, parties, dances, weddings,local elections,and Roller Derby.
The local lions club is on the property, small building, closest to the entrance. There are also a few small show barns, that are kept closed until the fair.

There are no garbage cans available while no events are happening, because the property is technically not open to the public.
So please, take with you what you bring in. Pick up after your dog. Be an adult, and carry the poop bag all the way home.

PROTIP:
Perfect area to spot heron. There are at least 2 that nest along the river here every year.
The bald eagle has been seen here. I've seen it twice.
Small ramp for launching a canoe.
Popular fly fishing area.
